Upgrade from v1.39 to v1.50

Hi All,

TIA for your help!! I'm planning to upgrade from v1.39 to v1.5. I read the upagrde instructions and here are my 3 questions:

a. I understand to use WinMerge to compare the file differences, but I don't why we need to compare the orignal vs. current modified; and then compare the lastest v1.50. Why can't we just compare the current online copy vs. v1.50 (skip the original)?

b. I didn't use the template override system when I had modified many PHP files. Any workabout or is it really a big issue?

a) You are essentially rebuilding your site. So, comparing OLD with CURRENT shows you all YOUR changes. Then you take those changes, and apply them to the NEW. How else will you know whether a difference you discover is intentional because it's part of the new version, or if it was something you had changed yourself?

b) Again, since you're essentially rebuilding your site, now is a good time to use the override system when you re-make the changes in the new version as you build your new site.
