    Default Paypal Express checkout not returning data

    I'm in a little pickle and not sure where to go from here or what to check so I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction.

    Zencart 1.3.9h upgraded from fresh install of 1.3.9g


    Paypal express checkout will randomly not return the correct data to complete an order, sometimes it will work and sometimes it wont, I originally assumed this was from customers who closed the paypal page before returning to the site but a few customers have sent me emails about the order not showing on my site and one said it just returned to my home page.

    Paypal does show the order no problem so I am thinking its a communication problem with paypal and my website.

    Most orders did process as normal but it seems to have become a daily problem now.


    Any suggestions?

    What do your PayPal logs in your /cache folder show?

    Thanks, I've had it running for a short time so what would I be looking for? something with failed at the end of the document? as they all seem to say success.

    Also this problem may be more than paypal as I just remembered.

    Sometimes when opening orders ect. in bulk as I do when doing the orders, at random times the page will return to the home page like it doesn't exist but the correct link is in the header. I remember this use to happen very often but is pretty rare now days, it reminded me as I had this problem yesterday but the fix is always to just close and reopen the page.

    I do have my website to redirect any broken links to the homepage so could this possibly be my issue?

    Is this something that's affecting only your Admin section?
    Or is it something happening on your storefront?

    Lots more details are needed ... ie: what exactly you're talking about.

    - Current: Zencart V1.3.9h
    - Previous Version: V1.3.9g fresh install
    - To upgrade I manually replaced the files as was requested in the upgrade documents.
    - I've only added one shipping module (Ozpost) and added a new template
    - uploaded files via FTP although I do use Cpanel to update files
    - It's pretty much a stock install apart from the shipping and template addons.
    - my host is ausweb



    A new problem has arisen, paypal does not show any order information apart from the price, and it doesn't show any orders in zencart. This problem has affected 2 order in the last 4 days, I do have the log, would it be best to pm you a link to it?

    Yes, from what I can see from my end its only happened in the admin section when opening pages. (I use the middle button on the mouse and open ~10 orders), it only happens every so often.

    The customers were the ones who said it just returned to the homepage and not to the checkout success page.

    Nothing changes to the storefront its like I clicked on the homepage but it has the correct link in the header, even if I use the link in the header it'll open the correct page.

    The logs you sent are only the ipn_xxxxxx.log files, and don't give any details useful for debugging any problems with Express Checkout.
    If this is about Express Checkout, then I need the PayPal_CURL_xxxxxxxx.log files, and if it generates any other PayPal_xxxxxxxxxxx.log files, those are valuable too. If it's not generating those, then you've not enabled debug-log-to-file in your store's admin's PayPal Express Checkout module's settings.

    It appears your problems are related to rounding issues ... most likely a factor triggered by tax-included-pricing, which I understand is the norm with GST in Australia.

    Extensive fixes for such rounding issues were made in v1.5.0. I recommend upgrading.
