    Default Adding links to tool menu

    Hello to everybody from Spain

    I've just installed the last version of zencart (1.50) and now i'm trying to add links to the tools menu
    The fact is that I have added some modules like ezpopulate, backup site or backup mysql but i cannot make these options (links) are displayed in the menu tools.

    It seems these names appear in admin/includes/languages/english.php (and they connect to a file stored in the admin folder)

    Ex:
    // tools text
    define('BOX_HEADING_TOOLS', 'Tools');
    define('BOX_TOOLS_TEMPLATE_SELECT', 'Template Selection');
    define('BOX_TOOLS_BANNER_MANAGER', 'Banner Manager');
    define('BOX_TOOLS_CACHE', 'Cache Control');
    define('BOX_TOOLS_DEFINE_LANGUAGE', 'Define Languages');
    define('BOX_TOOLS_FILE_MANAGER', 'File Manager');
    define('BOX_TOOLS_MAIL', 'Send Email');

    etc

    But i'm not able to add more links no matter i add the names like "ezpopulate" and it has a file stored in the admin folder

    What is happening?

    I'm fairly new to this myself, but ezpopulate installed just fine first time for me. You might try to re-installe it. I've read that some files can get corrupted on aFTP upload.

    The menu in v1.5 is NOT handled by merely adding defines and extra_boxes files in various folders.
    The new menu is driven by permissions and security and available options are stored in the database.

    Updated versions of your addons will be your best choice.

    Did you install the latest version of EZ Populate? It's 4.0 beta. See this thread:

    Yes, several threads exist in the Upgrading to 1.5 section of the forum, talking about not only the menu needs, but also the VERY IMPORTANT security changes required to your addons. It's not enough just to add it to the menu. The addons won't work if they aren't rewritten to embrace safer operation.
