Can't Edit Qty of Items in Cart

I had this problem with my 1.3.9 (only mod was grid layout) and thought upgrading to 1.5.0 might fix it...but it didn't. I can't edit the quantity of an item after it's been added to the cart. Instead of an editable space where the number can be changed, it just has the number.

I'm running 1.5.0, a rather clean upgrade then customized to my own template, and I've added some add ons now:
save for later
gift wrap (still configuring)
ty tracking
snaf
flexible attributes
usps

I couldn't find anything talking about this with search or the faq.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

If you edit a product ... what is the setting for:

Products Quantity Box Shows: Yes, Show Quantity Box No, Do not show Quantity Box

Oh! I have those set to off so it doesn't ask people for a qty before they add to cart. Does that also turn off the ability to edit qty in the cart? I hadn't thought of that at all!

I tested it, and yes, that did it!

Thanks! I did not realize that affected the ability to edit the qty in cart as well as on the product page. I will change them back.

Is there anyway to achieve both, do not display quantity box on product page but have the ability to edit in the cart?

This comes useful when a customer mistakenly adds the product twice (we have a lot of attributes so it wouldn't be so convenient to remove all together)

If I understand what you are trying to do here ... using your templates and overrides, customize the file:
tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

and add the code in RED for around line 68:

  if (false && $product['flagShowFixedQuantity']) {

To hide the quantity box in the product info page, add to your stylesheet

#cartAdd input[name='cart_quantity'] {display: none;}

To remove the text before the box, you can edit the define for it. Search in Tools > Developers Toolkit for Add to Cart to find the file to edit. Change the defined value from 'Add to Cart:' to ''.
