    Default Stripe.com integration?

    https://stripe.com/docs/examples

I just discovered this service (the internet's answer to iphone/squareup.com). I want to utilize this service as payment configuration within my zen-cart. Its open source. Has anyone figured out the php language necessary to make it work?

I do not know .php so cannot take advantage of their service...

does zen-cart generally approve of this company?

The latest issue of Business Week magazine had an article on Stripe, which got me interested in them. I just finished reading through their website (including their API documentation).

They indeed have PHP libraries, and their examples all include PHP, so integration with Zen Cart at least would not suffer from a language incompatibility.

For those who haven't looked at Stripe, the beauty of their scheme is that the customer's card info never hits the Zen Cart site. The card info goes straight to Stripe, which then issues a "token" (a unique string of characters that has no meaning except to Stripe) which a Zen Cart payment module would then use the charge the customer's card.

And unlike PayPal, the customer never leaves the Zen Cart site. It's pretty slick.

I'm not sufficiently expert in PCI compliance to know whether this approach would totally get store owners out of the PCI compliance headache, or whether it just makes it a lot less likely you'd suffer a loss, but the fact that cardholder data never even momentarily passes through the Zen Cart site has got to make a store owner sleep easier.

I can't see this as being as simple as cut/paste in ZC. The logic flow surely requires development of a specific payment module just for Stripe.

I'm at this moment in the midst of a major revision/upgrade of my site, so I can't work on Stripe integration right now, but I hope this payment approach sparks interest in the Zen Cart community, and I'll be happy (at some future point) to help with coding and testing.

I hope this thread stays alive, and that more people contribute their impressions and understandings.

Was a solution found for adding a payment module for stripe? I'm working on an implementation for this and didn't want to reinvent the wheel if not necessary.

    Thanks

Nobody has a solution for zen-cart working with stripe as of yet. I asked stripe too, no information. We need this...

Idea or Suggestion Re: Stripe.com configuration - php cut and paste code?

Just discovered it as well, and I think it'd be a nice but we do need a maven to create this one.

Looking through their site, they say that the module is already PCI compliant - so a 1.50 module is most likely, but it would be nice to see a 1.3.9. *pokepoke*

I'll ask about and see if one of my two can help... but maybe a post in the General board, or the Pub would be in order - as an attempt to raise awareness?
