zen_draw_seperator alt tags

Hi,
on my home page (http://www.curvesandcorsets.com) I have multiple pixel_trans.gif with an empty alt tag. I have tried adding an alt to the zen_draw_separator function in includes/functions/html_output file

from:

function zen_draw_separator($image = 'true', $width = '100%', $height = '1' ) {

to:

function zen_draw_separator($image = 'true', $width = '100%', $height = '1', $alt = '') {

and then changing my tpl_header file from:

<?php echo zen_draw_separator($image = 'pixel_trans.gif', '1', '18');?>

to:

<?php echo zen_draw_separator($image = 'pixel_trans.gif', '1', '18', 'Corset');?>

but have had no joy so far :0(

can anyone help?

I have multiple pixel_trans.gif with an empty alt tag.

The ALT tags on those kinds of images SHOULD be blank.
Those images add nothing to usability, so they SHOULD be blank so that screenreaders don't read them.

While it's true that images are supposed to have alt tags, these images are completely content-free and an alt of "Corset" would actually be misleading. I think it's pointless to worry about fine details of modern standards while using a template that relies heavily on layout tables.

That's just it. They DO have alt tags. And they're appropriately blank. Therefore they are compliant with modern standards.
