Setting up products pricine

When I add a product to the system,

Tax Class:
Products Price (Net):
Products Price (Gross):


are in the fields. Now the item is taxable so that is no question, but I pay say 10.00 for the item, and want to display the item at say 12.50. How do I set the net and gross prices? I tried adding the 2.50 in the attributes and it did not add the 2.50 to the base price. (unless I did something wrong).


Anyone who can spell this out clearly your help would be greatly appreciated.

Tax class: select if the item is taxable or not
Products Price (Nett): this is your sale price EXCLUDING tax
Products Price (Gross): this is your sale price INCLUDING tax

The system does not care nor does it know what you paid for the item - so don't mix up your sale price with the price you paid for the product(s).

To get this working properly, you first need to set up your taxes (tax classes) in admin. There are tutorials and umpteen posts on the forums that can teach you how to do this.
