Default Redirect script to My shop

I use 1.3.6 its been running for years and works perfectly.
I have zencart installed in a sub folder of my domain.
    eg www.mydomain/myshop.
I use a simple redirect script as an index file to direct my domian name to my shop.
I recently had a company test my site and the report said the site was not indexed properly and im thinking its due to my redirect index file.

Is there a better way to do it or do it need to move all my files up one level? The problem I see is this would change all the locations of pages listed on a google search and maybe even on customers favorites.

The best approach is to move the store in to the root of the domain.

The problem I see is this would change all the locations of pages listed on a google search and maybe even on customers favorites.
You could then place a redirect or a notice page in the folder where the shop was previously located.

Whether you think it's working perfectly or not, it has some serious vulnerabilities in it, and you ought to be upgrading ASAP.

What exactly do they mean by "not indexed properly" sounds like weasel words, did they elaborate a bit more than that.

Have you tried running your site through something like woorank just to give some ideas of what you may need to look at, some of its useful, some of its not

RescoCCC: I guess i knew that already. Thats for the advice

Dr byte: I know this too. thanks for the kick in the pants to get me going. Im a little scared to do it because of the memories of the time I spent getting 1.36 to work the way I wanted. I will do it.

nigelt74: This is the warning I got. Its from the Yellow Pages™ website analysis tool

The extent to which pages can be indexed is the extent to which a search engine can find pages on your website and read the text on those pages. The indexability of your site by spiders is of crucial importance in determining its inclusion in search results. Before you start improving your website you might want to check the following problems:
    • The spider only found 1 page that contains a META refresh. A spider can't follow META refreshes.

You can get around this by doing a 'save page' of your zencart front page as a html file, and saving this as your index.html file.

That way the spider will see all the content on the index.html file as good as your store front page, all the links will work, and spiders will be able to crawl the page and all pages from it perfectly.

The only issue is any content on the front page that may have 'rotated' - such as new sideboxes etc, will be static and the same each time.

Only if you don't want to move your whole store up one level though.

Ive done this on this site as it was in a folder - http://www.fittedparkingsensors.co.uk

If you go to that domain, youre at an index.html file. Any link you click goes to the index.php (zencart live) version, and then any link you click from there stays within Zencart.

If you ever update the site though, or even Metatags etc, you need to resave the page.

What happens if you run a site:yoursite.com in Google? Are your pages being indexed?

    Thank dgent.
Copying the webpage and loading it as a webpage worked perfect. I ran it on http://www.woorank.com/
and the results were much better.

What Ill do now is upgrade to 1.5 and run it from my domain folder.
    Thanks for the help
