double heading in down for maintenance

I am closing the store for one week. I used the down for maintenance in the admin section to change the dates.
Here I entered a March date. In the store, howver, I am getting two dates.


Home :: On Vacation
On Vacation ...
The site is currently down for maintenance. Please come back later.
On Vacation until January 13, 2012.
On Vacation until March 25, 2012


I am not sure how to locate and remove the first heading with the old date, the one that has a January.

Ideally, I'd like to have only the On Vacation and one heading with the correct date.

Any ideas to help me clean it up would be appreciated.

I suspect someone has edited the message in a language file instead of via the admin, thus causing the duplication.
