help question After Fantastico! Upgrade, lost admin functions

Hey folks. After using the Fantastico! (User cPanel from Webhostinghub) to upgrade from 1.3.9 to 1.5, the site seems to be fine (except for the homepage, which needs to be selected) I try to login as admin, and the page that results only shows statistics, open orders, new customers, etc... There are no longer any admin functions. Any suggestions before I do a restore? (yes, I DID back up.. lol)

Do your upgrades manually is the usual advice given here. Never trust an auto-upgrade script, no matter what your service provider tells you.

Right. Fantastico, and other automated installers, do a horrible job of upgrading.
    Always upgrade by hand.

I"m having the same issue....upgraded through fantastico and now it logs me as a user with no admin rights

ok I understand that upgrading through fantastico might not have been the optimal route.

However, is there a way to restore the admin functions without dealing with restoring the whole installation from backup and then manually upgrading?

I'm sure it's just a matter of changing the code somewhere, isn't it?

    Any suggestions?

Nope. There are no shortcuts. Best that you rollback now and start fresh. This may be only the first of issues that you will discover as you go along. Best to start fresh now before more time goes by and it gets worse.

    Sorry
Not to mention taking a shortcut led to an issue that would have been avoided by upgrading the right (and yes longer) way..
