    Default Problem redirect site

My old site is under mysite.com. All Google ranking is under the root of mysite.com. Now my site is under mysite.com/estore.
I change .htaccess of the root with or other try and it will give me an error: to may redirect

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !estore
    RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/mysite\.com\/estore\/" [R=301,L]

    or either

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/mysite\.com\/estore\/" [R=301,L]

Could somebody help me. (I already spent 3 days on that problem).
    Thanks.

The root version was done by another webressource. Now I am using Zencart since a good year I just realize the Google ranking problem.I do not have very much experience.

    In root I have:
    page1.html
    page2.html
    estore folder
    order.php

I just found that I can put in each program a php redirect line. I taught that htaccess was they only way.

Also I wonder if it not better for ranking purpose to put Zencart in root folder?

Thanks a lot Dr. Byte for looking my problem.

Yes, it is usually best if Zen Cart is in the root folder, not in a subdirectory.
