help question reseting permissions on my configure.php

    Hi,

I've just installed Zen Cart 1.5 via FTP by run zc_install. Now I am at 'Next steps'.

The instruction at next steps says:

Also for security, you will need to reset permissions on your configure.php files located in the /admin/includes/ and /includes/ folders back to read-only mode before allowing people to access your store.

A question: should I reset these 2 configure.php files permissions to 444 (read only permissions for everybody, including owner) or 744 mode (owner - full permissions, others - read only)?

I suspect me (the owner) must have full permissions?

    Please advise. Thanks in advance.

    Jack

You need to set the 2 configure.php files to 444 permission for security purposes. If you need to change some information in there you can go back and change file permission to 777 do whatever you are going to do and then set them back to 444. You do not want a hacker to be able to get to them.
