if the language pack is older than current zc version

Hi,

The newest zc is 1.5 and my language pack does not exist for this version. The latest language pack is for 1.3.9h.

So I have a dilemma - what is easier/faster/possible/more reliable solution:

- to update older translation (as per http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...er_translation) or

- to install zc 1.3.9h with my language and then update zc to 1.5 (although I am not sure whether my 1.3.9h language pack would be running with zc v1.5).

The 1.39 pack will work on zen cart 1.5, but you will miss some defines, and have some obsolete ones. So it is best to update your language pack.

I would recommend:

1. Install 1.5, ensure all is working ok with just english.
2. Check the additional/old language files are encoded in UTf8 (probably not). There are free programs available to bulk convert to UTF8 without BOM.
3. Copy the converted language files into the new installation.
4. Compare them to the english ones (Beyond Compare).
   There will be new defines to add to the old files, redundant defines to remove and new files to copy over.
5. When you have fixed them, and all is ok in your shop, upload your contribution!!
