    Default Why is my site not displaying on the internet?

    [FONT="Times New Roman"]Please Help.

    Can anyone tell me why my site www.thegiftfairy.co.uk/zencarta is not displaying on the internet. I can gain access to my admin page but when I click on store front I get the following message - website is unavailable may be due to down for maintenance. I haven't chosen to to disable the site by altering any settings.

    Regards

    I'm seeing a database error when I go to your site (without the 'a' on the end). Check your database name and login info in the configure.php file.

    Thanks for that. Do you mean the php file on my main website or on zencart?

    You have installed zencart in a SUB-FOLDER called "zencart"

    so...

    look at this file:

    public_html/zencart/includes/configure.php

    Look for the lines:

    define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'XXXXXXXX');
    define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'YYYYYYYYYY');
    define('DB_DATABASE', 'ZZZZZZZZZZ');

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Then, look at the CORRESPONDING configure.php file in your ADMIN area.

    public_html/zencart/YOUR_ADMIN/includes/configure.php

    Look at what is contained in the same section of the code in THAT file:

    define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'XXXXXXXX');
    define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'YYYYYYYYYY');
    define('DB_DATABASE', 'ZZZZZZZZZZ');

    IF your ADMIN login is working, then the database details are correct in your ADMIN configure file.

    You need to use the SAME details in your store-front configure file.

    You may need to SET PERMISSIONS from 444 to 644 before you can edit and save that file. Set permissions in your C-PANEL - not via FTP.

    I see you are using RVGlobalsoft as your "site builder".

    You should consider abandoning this system, and making your MAIN SITE fully Zencart-based.

    Practically every aspect of your MAIN site is configurable in zencart and even though the current site is a bit "messy", the content is relatively easy to bring into a zencart platform.

    I suddenly have this very issue, zen cart running just fine then all of a sudden cannot access the store but can access the admin pages. I checked both configure.php files and database info is correct. At this point all I see in the store is a "0".

    This message is repeated in the error logs, not sure if it is related.

    For those of you looking for resolution, for whatever reason the scripts in my site were damaged. The solution was to install the backup or in case you don't have one reinstall ZenCart. Backup the database before doing anything to avoid further trouble.
