It isn't your charset it is just that one sub catagorie. find it and edit the name and discription or delete it.

Play with it long enough and you will break it.

Older versions of Zen Cart does not use UTF-8 by default.
You can follow this guide to make your own website UTF-8 compliant: http://www.srw2d.com/sites/default/file ... V1.3.8.pdf
Existing websites will need to go into PHPMYADMIN and change the collation of the database and tables to utf8_unicode_ci. Do the same for all of the columns in the tables that you need to be able to store UTF-8 encoded characters.
Or you can use the MySQL charset converter for Zen Cart by DrByte in the free downloads since the posted link seems to be invalid.
