Need Advice for Large Quantity of Attributes

Hi gang,

I'm working on a office chair cart.
Many of the chairs have the option of fabric choices.

The problem comes in that there are 225 fabric choices.

That becomes a real pain in selecting all those for each product they apply to.

I am also wanting to add an image for each so the customers can see what the fabrics look like.

Questions:

1) Having never seen attribute images in action on a ZC, are they thumbs that click to enlarge? If so, what is an optimal large size dimension?

2) Is there any easy way to handle adding 225 attributes to a product?

3) Any other suggestions, tips, advice?

1) They are just small images, not clickable.

2) If you will be adding the same attributes (or even mostly the same) to each product, you can set them up on one product and copy all at once to another product or a whole category of products. Then you can add or delete particular attributes where needed. If you have "families" of products with similar sets of colors, you can set up a master or dummy product for each set, and copy that to its relatives.

Make sure that each of your attributes are marked with "Apply Discounts Used by Product Special/Sale: No" (assuming that the options don't have cost associated with them); this will heavily reduce your pages' parse times.
