1.3.7 some blank pages

Hi,

I've been asked by a new client to get their Zencart site back up and running. It stopped working properly after the web hosting provider (bluehost) moved the client to a new server.

The site is running

zencart 1.3.7
php 5.2.17
mysql 5.1

The problem is manifested in that the main page only displays the background and product categories on the side. The products are not visibile. When I click on the product categories I get a blank page.

The admin section seems to be working fine.

I have read the blank pages FAQ.

There are no errors in apache's error_log for that site. I added enable_error_logging.php to include/extra_configures/ and made sure cache is writeable, but then I receive a 'content encoding error' when trying to view the site. No /cache/myDEBUG-xxxxxxx.log is created

Please help!

1. A link to see would help;

2. The cart should be upgraded, regardless.

Thank you for responding. Yes, I know the cart should be updated -I'm working on that but it's a daunting task, as I just inherited maintenance of the site and need to learn zencart and all the customizations of the client. Enough of my whining...

Another thing - I mistakenly wrote the wrong webhost in my OP. The correct webhost is dreamhost.

Yes, looks really messed-up. Probably beyond my ability to advise.

Are all of the catalog files properly uploaded? The view source code doesn't really show much, either.

Is this site in a position to just start over with a fresh 1.5 install? That's what I'd do if it happened to me.

Or can you pop-up a fresh 1.5 install on the server (perhaps as a subdomain or folder) to see if it works on the server? Even a Fantastico or Quick Install, if available, may be enough for this general trouble-shooting test.

Since you're using such an ancient Zencart version, you'll need to install this:

Then the problem will cause an error log file to be written to the /cache folder.

Thank you for your help. I decided to just bite the bullet and upgrade to 1.3.9h and did so last week.
