Paypal has stopped working?

Hello,
I have changed to paypal express but when I process payments in my site, I get this...
An error occurred when we tried to contact the payment processor. Please try again, select an alternate payment method, or contact the store owner for assistance. () - (7) couldn't connect to host

I have also run ipncheck.php which says...

Trying direct HTTP on port 80 instead ...

Where is your site hosted?

At first glance, the server has not been configured to enable cURL functions. (Though it may also be due to a malconfiguration on your part).

If your host is incapable of/not willing to configuring the server to accommodate eCommerce, then find a host that knows what is necessary to make eCommerce function properly.

When I set it up in paypal for the ipn, I have made a new main email. I go to API access, view api signiture but it still tries to incorporate my old email address into it. Is that an issue?

Also I then input all this info into my zencart.

I then go to grant api permission, but am unsire what to put in here. I keep getting error message... Please enter valid API username.

What have I done wrong?

Your PRIMARY email at paypal must also be your PRIMARY email at zencart.

Is there a way to change my zencart primary email because when I try to use my zencart one, it does not send the email to accept it.

Please try to follow what is being said.

At PayPal, you have set up a PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS.

In your PayPal Payment module on zencart, you have an input field for the SAME PRIMARY ADDRESS you have set up at PayPal.
