Trouble Trying to edit header

Hey guys,

First post, hoping you can help me out.

My site is amphobby.com. Things got complicated when I changed the template. Take a look to see how messed up the header is. That is the right logo, but only half appears. How and where can I edit the size? I'm not even sure what I did (and where I did it) to get the logo on there in the first place. Also, how and where can I edit the other half, the part that when you mouse over says HEADER_AD_TEXT. Thank you so much, I have spent way too much time trying to solve this myself

Who designed that template? It looks awful messy?

Additionally, if you take pics of products with a digital camera, these need RE-SIZING before you load them up to the site. Your images are MASSIVE - both in dimensional as well as file size.

Your site is slower than the cooling rate of the sun. You must OPTIMISE images (both in dimensional AND file size).

Try a different template... As a novice, you are going to battle with that one.

The ones from 12leaves are quite nice, and they are reliable

Thanks for the reply. You're talking about the item pictures? (those are fake listings, by the way) Yeah, they are massive - I have them re-sized on photobucket, what size would you recommend?

I got the template (bluecart) from this page here (simply liked the look of it)

Those templates look great - I'll likely select a new one. Thanks for the link. Is there anything I need to do to "clear" what I may have messed up with this template before adding a new one?

There is a nice image edit tool available at coolutils. It's commercial, but very cheap. It can re-sample and save images at different sizes and aspects.

Also... when you take pictures, try not to make them look as if you just put the item on the bedroom carpet first. Images are your BIGGEST SELLING TOOL... Bad images will lose you sales. Use a well-ironed, plain white bed sheet as a background. If you can, set up a table outside, so you use natural light. Better on a cloudy day so there are soft shadows. Take several pics of the products at different angles, and then use the additional images feature to show those images along-side a main image.

Image NAMES should all be lower-case letters, followed by the extention .jpg in lower-case. No SPACES in images names, and better to not have capital letters. No SPECIAL CHARACTERS (%,$,@,#,{ )

That last may be my problem. Let me test a couple things. I appreciate all the help and advice :) I switched my template now as well.

Your have not loaded your template correctly. You have not loaded some LANGUAGE files to the right place. That is why you are seeing things like: HEADER_SHOPPING_CART_EMPTY

Nothing was working the way the tutorials said - I have removed Zen Cart now and am going to start piecing it back together.
