Default Choose product_info pages based on manufacturer filter

In the stock ZC 1.5.0 with demo products installed, choose "Microsoft" from the manufacturers sidebox -- you're presented with a listing page with the three products with Microsoft as the manufacturer. Click on the first product (IntelliMouse Explorer) and you're taken to the product_info page-list associated with the "Mouse" category (2 products). Wouldn't the customer expect to be taken to a page where s/he can view the page-list of the three Microsoft products?

Is there a Plugin that will display the product_info page-list based on the contents associated with the listing page from which the product_info series was launched? This behavior is present for the new, all, specials and featured products' pages as well.

The manufacturer filter which you're using simply takes you to the list of products matching that criteria. As far as navigation goes, that's where it ends.
When the customer then clicks on one of the displayed products, they are taken into the normal navigation which is based on cPath.

While that's the way it was designed for v1.x, apparently you have a case where you for it to operate differently. That will require rearchitecting the code.
I think I've seen maybe 2 or 3 mentions of your same wish in the last several years. A more common request is for a way to guess what sort-order customers want to see results in when using the prev/next buttons on the prod-info page. But that's another topic.
