Default Fedex API is definitely Terminating May 31st

I just spoke to Fedex tech support and they are definitely terminating the Web Services API function on May 31st 2012.
Is there a work around or another solution for this problem?

When I asked Numinix about their shipping module, they said they would give me a quote to custom write an app for me to resolve this issue. I can't be the only person needing a Fedex solution. I don't like being held hostage by a software company in this manner. If Numinix created a general fix, I would gladly consider paying something reasonable for it, but to have one created specifically for me seems a bit shady.

I'm considering just offering USPS but this won't work for all my products. Once a package weighs over 5 lbs, it's cheaper to use Fedex than the Post Office.

Are you sure that you're comparing apples to apples or correct terminology? From what I understand

    • Fedex API is terminating and is replaced by
    • Fedex Web Services

It is also my understanding that the Numinix fedex addon is written for Fedex Web Services which is current. I don't believe that Fedex web service support would have spent the time with me for setup last month if my setup was being terminated.

I think the confusion was in the terminology.
Thanks for pointing it out to me. I have downloaded the new module!

I believe this message from Numinix is incorrect as their website shows the Web Services Module replacing the API.

    ...
Yes unfortunately the FedEx modules will no longer work at the end of May.
What we can do for you is create a similar FedEx module for you. You can email us
exactly what you want the module to be like, and I can provide you with an hourly
    programming quote.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you,
