Your Products really sound like your import your Products and that they are all missing the master_categories_id and probably the products_price_sort_order ...

Yes. Some products are linked. I use the EasyPopulate plugin to control inventory. When I upload I make sure all the appropriate categories are in place. I wrote that off as an issue. But I can see how it could be a problem for someone else.

That is your problem ... without master_categories_id the search is failing ...

You can try the updater in the Store Manager, running:

Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID
to be used for Linked Products and Pricing:

then running:

Update ALL Products Price Sorter
to be able to sort by displayed prices:

NOTE: the master_categories_id selected will be the lowest categories_id in the products_to_categories table ...
