I need help with my product listing please help im going insane!!

Hello,

I have been looking for about a week now trying everything I can think of and Im going crazy please help me:

Here is my problem my product list is displayed in the normal zencart fashion it seems which is one column of products going way down the page. I installed the mod to column it out and it works fine. However Id like to set the grid(or table) to the default making it show two or three rows in my product listing pages and if the customer wants they can switch it the other way(or just leave it in grid format). Please help me with this as Im going crazy!!
