Default Sale not applying to category

I have created a sale event:

    Date Added: 05/24/2012
    Last Modified: 05/24/2012
    Last Status Change: 05/24/2012

    Deduction: 20.0000 Percent
    Pricerange: $0.00 to $0.00
Specials Condition: Ignore Specials Price - Apply to Product Price and Replace Special

    Starts: Immediately
    Expires: 06/04/2012

The products in the category that aren't displaying with sale pricing are linked duplicates (we sell products by "themes" and "sizes" - this is a "sizes" sale).

The products are priced by attribute (you can add something to them - which is also on sale).

However if I go in and individually set an item to SPECIAL instead of SALE the pricing works. However this would mean doing that for several items instead of three clicks.

    Help?

Sales with the Salemaker are managed based on the master_categories_id ...

If Linked Products are in the Category on Sale and that Category is not their master_categories_id, then the Sale is not going to work on them ...

Thanks for the quick reply - as always!

Is the only other way to handle it to go in and to SPECIAL pricing on each item then?

That or change the master_categories_id of these Linked Products to the Category that you are putting on Sale ...
