Default New host: SimpleScripts vs. server

I run 138a on CentOS on my VPS server and plan a 2nd store on a new domain, and maybe a new host.

My question is, what is the difference in straight server install vs. installing via 'SimpleScrips'?

My VPS runs ok, but server speed is on the slow side. I see that i.e. Bluehost.com has 'unlimited domain hosting' and offers Zen-Cart via SimpleScrips, but I wonder if I lose flexibility. For example, can I still make PHP script changes?

It is always better to Download Zen Cart to your computer and do your own FTP copy to your server and then Install ...

If doing an upgrade, you will want to look into the differences of an Install vs an Upgrade for the merging of files etc. ...

    That version is NOT SECURE.
    YOU NEED TO UPGRADE IMMEDIATELY.
And stop installing that old version on your sites.

My question was whether I have the same access with a 'SimpleScript' install vs. a normal server install.

Anybody here using bluehost.com , hostgator.com or any other host were you can install Zen-Cart as an app rather them from source.

Well, I would hope that you have the same features available.

You could quickly find out for yourself by comparing the files put on the server by the automated install vs the original Zen Cart distribution files. WinMerge will show you in a few seconds if there are any differences.
