Vacation Question

I am going on vacation before too long and I won't be able to ship anything from my website. I'm sure a lot of people have run into this before me so I hope you will give me some solid advice. What are my options for my website? I don't want to leave it on maintenance that long as a lot of people love looking at the specimens. Is there a setting where I can not show prices, or not show the "Buy Now" button, so people can still look around the website but they will have to wait until I return to place an order? Any suggestions. Thanks.

You could go to the Configuration ... My Store ... and change the setting on the:

Store Status
What is your Store Status
0= Normal Store
1= Showcase no prices
2= Showcase with prices

One more quick question Is it possible to put individual items on showcase, leaving other items available for immediate purchase?

No, but you could add a message to your shopping cart explaining that some items will not ship until such and such a date. This way the message appears only to those customers who 'need to know' you are away for awhile.
