Default Tax Cloud and setting local taxes only

    Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to set up TaxCloud to charge taxes only for purchases made in the city we're doing business in - everywhere else will have no taxes charged.
I'm using ZenCart 1.5.0, on a Linux host. I just installed the zencart-taxcloudv1.5.1 mod. I updated my ZenCart settings with my TaxCloud API info and USPS user ID.

I'm looking for detailed instructions on how to integrate the two together. In the readme file included in the mod, it says to go to Fed-Tax.net for a detailed guide, but there is nothing there. Is this still a good mod to use?

What I am trying to do is set up the taxes so only people buying from the city of Buckeye, AZ will be charged taxes (at 10.3%). Right now it will charge everyone the 10.3%, or none at all if I disable that tax rate I created.

For my taxes in ZenCart, I have USA as my County, and Arizona as my Zone.
In Zone Definitions, I made one called "Buckeye Local Tax Rate". For Tax Classes, I have "00000" set for General items.
For Tax Rates, I have the Buckeye rate set.

Is there something else I'm missing?
For an example, in my cart, it says:
    Your Total
    $126.00 Sub-Total
    $15.14 United Parcel Service (1 x 2.40lbs) (Ground)
    $0.00 Tax lookup
    $0.00 Buckeye local tax 10.3%
    $141.14 Total

    Thanks,
    jp

Now I'm trying to run a test transaction through to see what happens. I get this error after I click on the final "check out" button:

Array ( [0] => A matching lookup could not be found for this authorization )

Hello, I think what is happening is that your zone definitions are overriding TaxCloud. If you are using TaxCloud you shouldn't have any Zen Cart zones defined.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
I tried deleting all the ZenCart tax zones I created. There is currently nothing in "Zone Definitions" or "Tax Rates." "Tax Classes" has one entry, named "00000" for general items.
It still gave the same error at checkout.

I'm going to try to live without it for a while, and see if I can get everything back to normal. I'll try again some time down the road, I'm sure.

It looks like the initial tax lookup is not being done, which is why you are getting that message when you check out. I can help resolve this once you are ready to do so.

Turns out we'll need the local tax rate after all. I'm ready to give it another try!
What do I need to do to get the initial tax lookup going?

    Thanks,
    jp

You should just need to enable TaxCloud and remove any remaining tax zones you have set up in Zen Cart.

OK, I'm thoroughly confused. I don't see any options anywhere to set it so that it only taxes orders from Buckeye, Arizona.
I set one product up with the Tax Class I had created in ZenCart (00000). When I tried a purchase with that product, it never showed any taxes applied, and when I did the final checkout, I got this error message again: Array ( [0] => A matching lookup could not be found for this authorization )

You said before I had to delete my Tax Zones, did you mean I have to delete each country listed in the Tax Zones page? My Zone Definitions & Tax Rates are empty (in ZenCart).

It sounds like you might be missing one of the files. If you send me your contact info I can take a look at your site to see what is happening.
