Well you haven't told us which, one so more info is really required?

It could be as simple as clicking the "uninstall" button if it has one.

or a difficult as removing all files added for the mod
and if they write over core files, uploading the original core file to replace it.
and removing the entries in the database, one by one.

Basically its the reverse of installing the mod one step at a time.

Thanks. I am not talking about any particular plugin. What I find is installing a plugin requires copying the individual plugin files in the respective root directory folders. So this involves more steps. Moreover, for some plugins the core files are overwritten.

I wanted to know is there any simple process to uninstall in one step. Or is it the case that I need to remove the files one by one from the root directory folders where it had been copied. If this is the case, how do I go about for the files that were overwritten?

    Generally speaking NO

    Often yes

Upload them from the previous versions.
You did keep the previous versions didn't you?
or you can get the unmodified stock versions from the the distribution files.

Personally I like to test mods on my computer on a temporary install that if it all goes wrong I just delete the lot and start again.
I would NOT test mods on a live site.
You can always install a temp version in a subdirectory on a live site to play with.

Thanks for the useful information that confirms my doubt. I think OSCommerce has a built-in facility to install and uninstall plugins.

Under each modules, on the right side top, built-in modules are shown for installation.

Is that like the payment, Shipping and Order-Total "built in modules" in zen-cart.

Yeah, I think so. What I feel is it would be helpful if Zen-Cart comes with more built-in modules so that installing and uninstalling becomes easy. In real sense, however, it is not installing / uninstalling but adding / removing the modules.
