    Default Delete only orders

    Hi folks,

I run a ski club and my orders are actually weekly ski trips. I would like to just delete all of last season's orders. If there has been information on this before, please direct me there.

My idea is to go into the database and empty the tables pertaining to "orders" and then reset the auto increment numbers back to 1.

Are there other files that I would need to empty as well or would this work?

    Thanks

How many orders are you talking about?
Is deleting them one-by-one a suitable solution ... by using the Delete button in your Admin? That is the safest and most efficient way.

The orders total table has over 6,000. The orders table is over 2,000.

There are SEVERAL tables involved in storing order data.
When you do a delete using the admin controls, it properly deletes related records from all affected tables. Hence the suggestion to use that method.

If you intend to do a mass delete using some other method, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING and start with good reliable backups.
