FTP Clients, other than File Zilla or WinSCP?

Have you considered that the problem isn't with your FTP client, but possibly a problem with your FTP server, or perhaps a firewall or even a permissions related issue.

What's the error message you get when you attempt a file upload?

Yes, and not even an educated guess. I tend to blame most data transfer problems on slow wifi, which indeed is a mistake. There's no doubt it's not the FTP's fault. I searched the forums for the mention of a specific FTP product that I had found more to my liking.

Your suggestion to check into a firewall and/or permissions issue is sound. Let me get back to you once I've checked them out. Thanks...

Here is the error message:
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry...

This is embarrassing, but for the record, there is a navigation window on the far left client side for locating files/folders. Once they are located, the selection for transfer is made in the adjoining window to its right. I was making selections from the navigation window on the far left only, so nothing could be transferred. Let this be a lesson for all idiots. Nothing is truly idiot proof, lest the idiot be an impostor.

You might like to try "goftp" i have been using for a few moths now, extremely fast, free and can be downloaded from internet, do a google search

Thanks, looks good and there isn't the separate navigation and selection panels.

Did you notice that on the top left bar, that it tries to find several connections when uploading and downloading.

swefil I can't get it to connect!!! None of them do except FireFTP...I miss out on a lot of good stuff for not being willing to tinker.

When I downloaded GoFTP, it presented an error message saying it couldn't write to a file. Perhaps that's my problem. I did love the UI tho, = P
