Products Quantity help

Hi there i am trying to figure this out and have looked everywhere and need some help
One section of products i have Products Quantity this is set to 4,(I do know if it is at 0 this is when out of stock and shows the picture)
I have had 4 orders from people and thought these items would be out of stock as i set to 4 but people can still add them to there account,

How is this done so only 4 people can have an order then they are out of stock?

admin->configuration->stock->subtract stock should be set to true. Then the quantity will go from 4 to 0 after 4 orders.

There are several settings on this page you'll want to look at to get the stock behavior you want- this is just one of them.

i do have this set

so i am puzzled as why more than 4 people can get the item

What is the products quantity now? It should be 0, if you started with 4 and got 4 orders.

it is still at 4,i also tested another section where i have them at 100 and this has also stayed the same

ok. Then compare the file includes/classes/order.php to a fresh copy and see if you have changed it.

not quiet sure what you mean,I uploaded a new order.php and still same
