I am a little confused now, since I got two different responses.

dbltoe - Yes, I want to it to be in the root. I may have been confusing in my reply. But instead of having links to all my categories on the homepage, I just want to have a link to the shop page.

If the whole site is in the root, you have no shop page. You would have a category page or (when you get more than tees) several category pages. You can set Zen Cart to automatically open the category when someone goes to the site or not. Up to you.

I understood you were willing to move to root, and were concerned in keeping the same look as you have it now, and said yes you can, but you do need some extra work; that means changing the wording from categories to shop, among others.
