In tpl_mega_menu.php find

   <div class="dropdown_1column">
                <div class="col_1 firstcolumn">

and change to

   <div class="dropdown_2columns">
                <div class="col_2 firstcolumn">

Never worked with this previously but the tutorial at http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/ht...rop-down-menu/
was most helpful.

Can't work out how to make the black background of level 3 (hover) solid. No matter what I do, the background remains transparent and the links of level 2 are shining through.

If you can put it live somewhere just on a test server I can take a look at it using firebug and see if I can help you ;-)

I may be able to help you if you send me the includes/templates/bentley_classic/common/tpl_mega_menu.php and includes/templates/bentley_classic/common/stylesheet_mega_menu.css file. If you email me these files with your changes I might be able to replicate the problem and help you.
