link attributes to inventory?

Hello,
I am using the most current version of Zen-Cart. I would like to know if it is possible and if so how to link my attributes to my inventory. I have one product that someone can purchase that incorporates my entire line of products. For example... They click on a starter kit, from there I have drop downs of all the ways they can customize this starter kit. Each of these drop downs have items that are also in my inventory in other categories. Each one has a +$... depending on the item they choose because some are more expensive than others. This gets the price correct and all items are now on their starter kit. The problem is that when they pick all of these items and place the order, I have to later go back in and adjust the inventory on the attribute items they picked. The only thing that the inventory deducts is the starter kit, which isn't technically even an item all by itself. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas or if anyone needs more information. I have explained it as well as I know how.

I have attempted to install this module a number of times even deleting all my files and customizations and reinstalling zen cart v 1.5 to my server and i'm still unable to get it to work. I need help finding a module that will allow for me to keep track of attributes associated with various products. (e.g. 4 styles of bags and varying swatches (attributes) associated with each bag). If anyone has been able to get this module to work in zen cart v 1.5 or any similar module, please let me know.
