    Default EU Cookies Directive

    Has anyone got any advice on the best way to bring my site up to the requirments of the EU Cookies Directive.

    I started a thread on this some time ago... search the forum for it. There are other threads too.

    Our site is based on Zencart and when you visit it you will see a cookie popup. Go HERE

    This was loaded using the tools I describe in that earlier thread.

    Thanks I didn't make myself clear.
    I understand what is needed but am not certain how or where to add a suitable script into the template. For example does the message have to appear only on the front page or on the first page a visitor uses on the site?

    The code I applied (and there are several organisations offering different code solutions) shows on any page and is visibile when a person FIRST visits the site. If they agree to accept the cookies it does not show again.

    The law has been "modified" to allow sites that use CRITICAL cookies to just have a declaration in their privacy policy page stating the use of cookies and what those cookies do. Apparently, it is not necessary to have that acceptance script now. We installed ours before this change was announced. Go to the ICO.GOV site for details.
