    Default Ready to deploy

Ok, I'm ready to switch my old store to my new Zencart store. What's the best way to do this, with the least amount of hassle, most likely chance of success, and least risk?

    1) Completely delete the old site and move all of the files from my zencart folder into the root (public_html) of my site.

    2) Completely delete the old site, leaving the zencart folder in tact, and setting up a new index.html which simply redirects to the zencart folder.

Or, is there a 3rd route that is safer and better than these two?

I KNOW how to do all that. I'm asking which option is better. Moving the files, or just doing a redirect? I remember vaguely that SEO likes one way but not the other, but does it really make that much difference?
