Loca Sales tax module

I have the local sales tax module that was zip code dependent that I never got installed on my 1.3.x sites. However, I am now working with ver 1.5.0 and have a client whose state charges different rates depending on county. From the tax rate tables I downloaded, it appears only a few of the counties charge additional tax, the rest ofthe state charges only the state rate.

My questions are:
Is there an updated local sales tax mod and where can I find it?
If I cannot implement the different sales tax ates by county are there plans to do so?
Considering my scenario, what would be my best implementation of the the additional sales tax rates for the 20 or so counties that charge additonal tax.
DO tax tax rates get added then applied to he order or how is it computed. Ie: if the state charges 6.75% and a few counties charge an additonal .25% for a total of 7%, how would I ensure I do not overcharge on the sales tax.

As most county lines do not fall along zip code boundries this will require some custom coding for your specific state

Use the Tax Cloud Module!


If your client is located in a state like CO, there is NO WAY I could manage the various tax rates with out.

For instance, we have state tax at 2.9%, then within denver we have RTD (bus/train)tax, science tax, park tax, etc...

And it all varies based on which side of the street you are on.

The server requires CURL be installed but other than that, its a fairly easy installation.
