First thing to try is changing Email Transport method to SMTPAUTH and set up all the SMTP settings properly.

no success, i opened an account at my store and the mail was transferred to my home account but contact us still isn't working. I did notice the contact us page is not https, would that affect my mail? how do I turn that page to https if so.

No, https has nothing to do with it.

Contact-Us emails are sent to the address you've specified in Admin->Email Options->Contact-Us-Pulldown ... or if you've left that blank, then they are sent to the Storeowner Email address instead (also on that same page of settings).

There are many troubleshooting steps outlined in the articles I pointed you to. They should be able to help you determine where your problem is. Or get your hosting company to help you trace where the email goes in their system. If their system receives it fine and it simply doesn't arrive to your final mailbox, then it's getting trapped by spam systems somewhere. Again, the articles I mentioned deal with that.
