Configuring Shipping Module based on Weight with Volume Discount?

I have my products set up by weight per carton and I want to charge $1.50 per pound for up to 300 pounds and then over 300 I want to charge $1.25 per pound and I thought this would be simple but I keep looking at all the options in the module and not finding anything that will do this with ease.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or perhaps an add-on that might do it?

Try the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module and see if setting it up for a rate of 1.50 works for your weights up to the $300.00 ...

If so, you could clone the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module for, example, perweightunitover300 and set the rate to 1.25 then customize the two modules so that one runs when weight is <= 300 and the other runs for weight >= 300.00 ...
