Hi,
I've started changing the way I receive emails from my Zen-Cart store:
1. From now on, "Emails must be sent from a known domain".
2. SMTPauth is default, and that's it.
3. I used a little edit I found in one of the threads, to make it that orders and contact us messages appear to be coming from the client's email address - I've stopped using this edit.
I made all these changes to fight the whole spam thing - which was becoming a nightmare!
Because I use GMail to handle incoming email - GMail's spam system can not differentiate between me and a spammer - which is why this had to eventually come to an end.
This is what I want, if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it
I want every single email that comes through to have a modified subject, as follows:
1. Order Confirmation No: ****
2. Message from STORE_NAME
3. Welcome to STORE_NAME
must all be shown as: STORE_NAME :: CUSTOMERS_EMAIL
this way I can group each customer's email into one massive GMail Conversation.
Alternatively, I may decide against the Order Confirmation, but would still prefer the Message from STORE_NAME that is a contact us form message to do this. Currently it's problematic, because now all customer's contact form messages are appearing in in one conversation, for the simple reason that it's coming from my store's email address, and because the subject is the same.
I messed around with the various files, including functions_email.php - and I'm not coming right at all.
Any different advice of how to handle this would be helpful - however I'm very keen on sticking with GMail - the organization is ease of Gmail's search function makes Gmail the best tool for me.
Also keep in mind, I am using the Zen-Cart order status update to communicate details of orders - so this is mostly for organization, not actual communication.
Thank you!
