Seriously, Don't look anything like that, mine are all white.
Not a bad thing, but not the pretty boxes that ecommerce users are used to at this point.
Amazing how much chatter one person's incomplete post can generate ... despite never hearing from them again after their first post.
In think the OP's situation is that they don't have HTML emails turned on, or their customers have TEXT selected, or both.
But if you're interested in changing the look of your HTML-formatted emails, simply change them yourself. Oddly enough they're found in the /email/ folder.

Sorry to spur such responses. I thought I'd turned on the HTML email switches in two places - and the emails that are being generated are text only.
I received the email pictured - when I made a purchase from another zen-cart site. I liked the look of it, so I thought I would ask the experts here how to generate the "more professional" looking email template.
I apologize that I didn't answer right away - I was away from my desk with some personal stuff...
Anyway - wasn't trying to upset anyone - just trying to ask the experts. Sorry for the controversy...
I did find one more switch setting - and now I've got the emails coming out in HTML. Onward to formatting. it was the MIME HTML switch - if anyone else made the "beginner's" mistake I made.
Thanks for the input, gang. When I have the formatting the way I want, I'll share my lessons here.
I try also and in version 1.50 doesn't work, i did the same steps in 1.39 version and works fine, i was able to send html emails

Yes, the sarcasm in these forums gets a bit thick from some 'experts,' but I suppose we can leave forum etiquette for another forum post ;)
I too have the problem where I can turn on html e-mails in 1.50, but there are still coming out in plain text. In addition to changing the Config>E-Mail>Mime settings, I also changed the Config>E-Mail>Admin Format (to HTML). While the former seemed to do nothing, the latter brought up my html editor in the composition window (Tools>Send E-Mail), although e-mails sent this way were still received in plain text. Neither the order confirmation nor the "manual" e-mail triggered the standard message, "show images," in my e-mail browser.
I should also add that html e-mails worked without problem in 1.38, and continues to work on a site that has been upgraded from 1.38 to 1.50, but the problem I am having now is in a 'virgin' install of 1.50 - Does that make a difference?
