    Default 503 Service Unavailable

I installed Zen cart 1.5. I changed the admin file name and when i go to my page and try to get on the admin page i just get this 503 service unavailable. Can someone explain to me what i need to do? Do i have to do something with the configuration doc?

    Thanks

Original Zen Cart code only sends a 503 header on the storefront (NOT the admin side) when the site is in Down For Maintenance mode, and even then it proceeds to explain why.

So, if your admin side is getting a 503, then that's being triggered by something in your server's configuration. Contact your hosting company to find out why.

If it was a fresh installation of v1.5.0 then there's nothing to touch in the ADMIN configure.php file when renaming the admin folder.

I can only imagine that something in one of your paths has confused the server.

Maybe even the path autodetection is unable to recognize your subdomain properly. And as such perhaps you may need to do some manual editing of your admin configure.php file.

It sounds like your hosting company is simply washing their hands of the issue because you're using third-party software and they don't want to get involved. But what would be really helpful is if they would look into their Apache server's errorlog and tell you the *cause* of the 503 error, according to the server ... since it's the server that threw the 503 error.
