pulling and displaying text snippets from other web pages?

Hi gang -

wondering if you have some ideas on pulling text snippets from other web pages and display them in the product pages. For instance pulling a certain "Out Of Stock" text from within a div with the id="OutOfStock".
The idea here is to automatically display this stock status on my drop ship item pages.

What I mean to do is pulling the "Out Of Stock" text from within the div with the class="OutOfStock". Something like:

<span class="OutOfStock">Out of stock</span>
