Default Assigning different taxes to product attribute

This is a long shot ... (and a last resort) but I am nearly at the end of the road for ZenCart working as an online shop for me. I have a particular request and it involves tax classes being assigned to products.

Please see www.bonnietartan.com for my shop setup. What I need is to have different tax rates to be assigned to product attributes ie I sell highland dancing tartan hose as a product with attributes of foot size 6" to 12". I need the foot size attributes 6" to 9" too be assigned 'zero rate VAT' and the foot size attributes 10"-12.5" to be assigned 'VAT20%'.

Can this be achieved or shall I move on (with tears) to an alternative solution?

Many many thanks for your precious time

Far as I know, there's no way to assign tax status to attributes. Could you include the VAT in the price and price by attributes ?

(And to think there are those here in the US eager to inflict this VAT stupidity on merchants in this country.)
