Hi,
Apologies if this is answered somewhere here - I could not find it searching various phrases...
I am upgrading a client's ZC store from 1.3.8a to 1.5. I have basically upgraded it on a testing server and am now doing the steps in the upgrade instructions under "3. Testing". I made a copy of the database in a new database and uploaded the edited 1.5 version files (which had been tested on another server). I edited the configure files to point to the live server (but to the testing directory) and also changed the database values. When I try to go to http://www.myclient.com/new_store/zc_install/ I get an error message that says:
Unfortunately we've discovered a problem:
The PHP version you are using (4.4.9) is too old, and this version of Zen Cart® cannot be used. You need to upgrade your server to the latest version of PHP.
However, when I look at the values shown in admin on the live store (old version) it shows that the version of PHP on the server is 5.2.17.
Any idea why this is giving a wrong value and thus preventing me from upgrading?
BTW, I can view the new version store by going to http://www.myclient.com/new_store/ It looks okay except there are two messages at the top:
Warning: Installation directory exists at: /homepages/22/d250293540/htdocs/new_store/zc_install. Please remove this directory for security reasons.
Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Admin->Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.
The first I would expect to see and the second seemed like I would be able to get around the zc_install block by going directly into the admin (renamed per the new guidelines). But, when I try that I get a message that the database needs to be upgraded by going thru zc_install so I'm back to square one.
Very frustrating as I've already spent WAY more time on this upgrade than I quoted to the client.
