    Default Remove Advanced Search

    How do I remove the advanced search page from my website?
    The basic search function is all I need.

    I guess it's not as simple as I thought it would be :/

    There's no need to remove the page from your website; turning off links to it will have the effect you want. You can disable the search sidebox and just have the header search. Anything is possible... if you show us your site and tell us where you want links removed, we can advise the best way for each location.

    The search sidebox is off. If you you use the header search with nothing in the search field it takes you to advanced search.

    Go to includes/modules/pages/advanced_search_result/header_php.php

    comment off the lines from #129 to #132
    /******
    if ($error == true) {

    zen_redirect(zen_href_link(FILENAME_ADVANCED_SEARCH, zen_get_all_get_params(), 'NONSSL', true, false));
    }
    *****/

    This should do the trick for you.

    Thank you it did work, however if you enter a search term that has no results you are still taken to the advanced search page.

    Would it be easier for me to change the advanced search to a string that says"'sorry nothing found, please try again." ?

    My solution was to edit tpl_advanced_search_defualt.php, removing all of the original code and inserting my own html with styling.

    If nothing is found when performing the basic search the user will be shown my custom message instead of the advanced search forms!
