FedEx gateway

Our company has an account with FedEx, and we're ready to install it as a shipping gateway through Zencart. I haven't tried doing it through Zencart yet. Are there any good posts that lay out instructions for adding FedEx as a shipping option in the admin/shipping module selection?

There is a plugin for FedEx and instructions are in the distribution

That one is for Fedex SmartPost. There is another numinix addon for traditional fedex available from the numinix.com website.

We use that one for pricing fedex for our customers and use ShipStation for printing the labels.

I installed the plug-in successfully, and have tried a test transaction. The FedEx smartpost window displays this message in the checkout phase:

Error in processing transaction.

ERROR
crs
750
Customer not eligible for service.
Customer not eligible for service.

And of course, it won't let you proceed to the 'payment' phase until this is fixed.

Anyone seen this before? What might be the cause? I've entered in all the info from the customer's FedEx account correctly, so far as I can see.

Did you enter the required FedEx account information??

So far as I know. I was in communication with FedEx and got:
Web Service/Auth. key number
Production password
FedEx account number
Meter number
and even a production URL.

I entered in all that info into the appropriate fields in the FedEx gateway section of the ZC admin tab.

Fedex requires a separate account number to use SmartPost and is usually setup through your Fedex account manager after being approved to utilize the SmartPost service.

Dumb question... you do realize that Fedex SmartPost is not the same as what most customers think of as Fedex? SmartPost is the fedex product that is delivered by the US Postal System.

The client for which I'm developing the shopping cart has an account with FedEx. You're probably right in that the Smartpost plugin wasn't the right one to go with. It asked for a lot of the same info, so I hoped it might work. Is there a plug-in that works specifically with FedEx web services?

Ah - found one. Seems to be working - emergency solved, except for the payment gateway, which still isn't playing ball for some reason.... Will post details in another thread
