Nevada/Tax/Counties?

I'm setting up an ammo sales site for our client. I went into admin and added each county in Nevada as a 'rate' within Nevada. But I guess all that does is add EVERY tax to the total price of the purchase, which is NOT what we want.

We want for the customer to be able to pick their county if making a purchase within nevada, so it charges them the appropriate county sales tax rate depending on which county they live in.

When ordering from out of state, they are not charged sales tax.

Is there a way to do this within the admin? Any help is appreciated.

You could try the "Local Sales Tax" plugin. I'm using it for Florida and I would imagine that it could be customized for Nevada. Essentially, I've mapped the zipcodes on a county-by-county basis to their appropriate tax rates. I've got a zone defined for Florida, so that if someone's shipping address is Florida they'll be charged the sales tax ... otherwise, no tax.
