Increasing Product Name Length -- Can it cause problems?

I would like to extend the products_name length from the default of 64 characters to around 80. I know how to change the field length in the database to accomplish this, but I'm worried it may cause issues with other code expecting the name under a certain length.

I've searched on this forum and Google, but haven't found any reported issues.

Is there a maximum recommended limit, or has anyone changed the length and had problems? Mainly worried about checkout processes (Authorize.net and Google Checkout), since they are difficult to test for errors.

Most titles are kept as short as possible, but a couple need subtitles to differentiate the names.. 70 chars is the longest so far, so I figured 80 would be the worst-case scenario before shortening with an ellipsis or doing some serious butchering to cut it down.

I implemented the new length and haven't encountered issues while testing so far... will update if problems arise.

There are other database tables which store that information for later reference, such as orders_products. If you don't update those other tables as well, then the data will be truncated and irretrievable.
