ceck vat on create account

Is it possible ceck vat or taxes on create account page, to avoid duplicate customers?

how can taxes show it's a duplicate customer? Do you collect a tax number from customers the same way you collect a name and address?

Is checking the email address not enough? If not you could check that the address doesn't exist in the database (or postcode might be easier)

Sometimes happen that the same customer already register, register again with a different email address, but the same vat number (so the same company). This for take a new vaucher discount. So I would ceck also the vat number.
